I love my 5" sock needles too!

Go to http://crocs.com (warning: horrid flash-based website). They make a model called "endeavor" which has no holes at all, and one called "professional" which just has side vents. Also a very cute Mary Jane style, which might stand out less. I'd really like a pair of those Mary Janes :)

Really? You like the Crocs? Hmmm. I wonder if they count as open-toed - I'm not allowed to wear open toed to my job with its ridiculous dress code.

I should have mentioned that both Henry and I had some slight irritation for a few days where our ankles kind of lean over to the inside... but our skin built up calluses there very quickly. New shoes always do that to us anyway. So, if you get a pair and you have funny turned-in ankles like we do, give your feet a few days to get used to them. The many ventilation holes keep your feet nice and cool!

Oh thank you for the shoe recommendation! I look at those types of things and think about hot plasticy sweaty-ness. I will try to have a more open mind. I need shoes with some give in the sole.

Henry is having such a wonderful and blessed childhood, Kara. I love to hear about all the things he gets to do.
