Oh, we watched all of The Tudors, season 1, already. We loved it. How to describe it… well, it’s on Showtime (that should tell you something). Not suitable for young’uns. There’s a LOT of skin. (season two is supposed to be much darker, and less skin-filled, yay) There’s a good amount of historical inaccuracy. But — there’s a surprising amount of accuracy, and the cast is utterly magnificent. The sets, scenery, costumes are lush, even if a bit wrong sometimes. The writing is not bad! Henry is played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers (soccer coach in Bend it like Beckham) who is… hot. He’s a perfect Henry, surprisingly. Extremely intense, passionate, moody, a hint of the nuttiness to come. Everyone is there whom you’d expect to see, and they’re wonderful — Catherine of Aragon, Thomas Moore, Cardinal Woolsey, the entire scheming Boleyn family, even Thomas Tallis shows up for a while, which made me happy, even though he needed to comb his hair and they gave him kind of a silly plotline. (I think they wanted the modern audience to understand that he was a rock star in his day , sorta ;-)

What’s going on with the homeschooling law in California?

Also the whole Church of England thing. No kidding! That’s my church now…one of things I rather enjoy about it is the depth of history around it. Let me know what you think of The Tudors.
