I read part of a thread elsewhere about whether "Kung Fu Panda" portrayed a positive message about fat people; then I watched Wall-E and found myself wondering the same thing. At first, one thought that everyone was fat since they'd been lounging around the cruise ship, but then it was explained as "microgravity" - and the people were helpful.

I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments! It's rare that I find a film that I want to watch repeatedly (let alone one that holds my attention :), but this surely is one. I can't exactly put a finger on why WALL-E turned out so great, but I love the near absence of verbal dialog. That the main characters are silent draws out the visual nuances and ups the emotion, I think. I hope Pixar is still making films like this when I have kid(s)!!
