Annie - The white paint was to cover up the ugly newsprint so it wouldn't show through the tissue paper. And that's why I'll use white paper for the last layer next time :) Karen - Yep, I used my largest mixing bowl as a mold, covered with plastic wrap. Chloe – thanks!
