Yes it’s a bit confusing to get started with librivox, but it gets easier in time. The best thing to do is to make an account on our forum: https://forum.librivox.org/

When we activate your account, we’ll send you an email filled with links that will help you get started, and then if you get really stuck you can always ask for help on our friendly forum :)

I hope you’ll join. Obviously you can read in English if you prefer, but It would be super cool if you could also add some Icelandic recordings to our catalog! :)

I am a great fan of Librivox and would love to volunteer to read for its podcasts. I am a writer/journalist and used to be a professional news anchor so I my reading voice is pretty decent (in addition I’ve been reading (ghost!) stories and poetry since the age of seven! I am from Iceland, but I have lived in the US for more than 20 years and speak like a native, I am told!

I was trying to figure out on the website how to go about reading for Librivox, but I couldn’t quite figure it out… :/.
Anyway, I would love to hear from you – thanks! Íris erlingsdóttir lee
