Hi Kara, I just wanted to thank you for all of your wonderful recordings on Librivox. I’ve been unwell myself (chronic fatigue) the last few months and initially came across your beautiful recording of Heidi on Librivox. I was so pleased when I discovered you had made so many other recordings of excellent books. I had felt a bit overwhelmed by the choice on Librivox but I trusted any book you have recorded would be a great read. I have also listened to A Room with a view, some of the children’s books and now started on The Hobbit. Never read any of them before and listening to the same person reading is familiar and easy.
It brings me a lot of joy and comfort, and I just wanted to say thank you! It’s helped me so much these past months, when I felt too tired to hold a book. I’ve struggled with sleep recently too, and it helped me to listen to you reading. I never took the time before for stories, so I am glad I’ve been forced to slow down, and discovered your gift to the world!
Thanks and take care, Sarah :-)
P.S. I’m based in Cambridge, UK, but from N. Ireland.

Hi Sarah! Nice to meet you, and I’m so happy to know that my voice brings you comfort. I recommend both novels by Frances Hodgson Burnett and also Dracula (for a change of pace) — all linked on my Librivox recordings page. On my Kayray Reads page, try Helen Cresswell’s “Bagthorpe Saga”, Elizabeth Enright’s “Melendy Family Quartet”, and Nicholas Stewart Gray’s “The Apple Stone”. These are just some of my top favorites :D
Take care, and let me know if you find any favorites of your own!
