Extra birthday present!
I came home today to find an extra birthday present (from a very sweet friend) waiting for me on the porch — a fabulous selection of knitpicks yarns! Now I’ve got enough Gloss in four perfectly coordinating colors to make knitty’s Thermal, plus even more sock yarn for even more socks/gloves/mittens/whatever!
WOOHOO!!!! I have a super-stash!!!

Hello Kara, I had to contact you to say how much we are enjoying Our Island Story. I know this isn’t the right place, but I cannot find an email place, so I’ve put it here.
We are homeschoolers on the South Island of NZ (think Lord of The Rings), and have been studying British History this year. Our ‘core book’ is Our Island Story, and we listen to you, and enjoy your reading greatly.
My son likes the bird and wants to know what sort of bird you have. He was sad when you went to Canada, and the bird wasn’t present on the recording!
I was delighted to see you homeschool as well.

Hi Katie, thank so much for letting me know that you and your son enjoy my reading. The bird is a budgie! We have two of them now and they are SO LOUD! I had to move my recording area away from them but you can still hear them sometimes even now :)
