A Christmas Carol

This is your yearly reminder that I made a recording of Charles Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol” for librivox a few years ago. I just listened to it while I had a nap. It’s a very good recording, if I do say so myself :)

    Hi Kara,
My daughters (aged 5 and 8) have just finished listening to your narration of Betsy and Tacy go Downtown (as well as the earlier books) … they have loooved these! Thanks so much. I was just thinking it would be great to read them some Dickens, especially Christmas stories, and then found this post! Perfect timing. Thanks! We love your work. My girls say they like it especially when you make mistakes. Lucy says, ‘it sounds so humble.’ We live in Australia. Both my daughters wanted to write their own notes to you, so here they are:

    From Lucy (8)
    Dear Kara,
Thank you very much for doing all the audiobooks. I only ever like to listen to the audiobooks that you narrate. I never listen to any other ones. My favourite ones are Betsy, Tacy and Tib, and Poo-Poo and the Dragon.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
    Lots of love from Lucy

    From Winnie (5):
    Dear Kara Shellenberg,
My name is Winter. I am just a child. I like your Betsy, Tacy, Tib audiobooks and I also like Poo-Poo and the Dragon. Have a merry merry Christmas.
    From Winter.

    Hello Sarah, Lucy, and Winter!

How nice to get a message from you all :) I’m so glad you enjoy my stories. Merry Christmas to you all, and love from California!

If you scroll down on my blog a bit, you’ll find “The Christmas Tree Book” which is interesting, Christmassy, and full of humble mistakes :)

Oh my word – that voice! She could read the phone book and it would sound soothing and interesting.

    Aww, thank you Tim! :)
